Parts of the Cell

Cytoplasm

The cytoplasm is everything inside the cell, except for the nucleus.

Golgi Complex

Packs cell products into a membrane and then secretes them outside of the cell.

Cell Membrane

Bilayer of phospholipids.  Also has proteins along it that serve many different functions.

Centriole

Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum

Has ribosomes on the surface that make proteins.

Nuclear Membrane

Nucleoplasm

Everything inside the nucleus

Nucleolus

Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum

Does not have ribosomes on the surface.  Makes lipids.

Microtubules

Structural Support

Vacuole

Storage area

Lysosome

Contain enzymes

Mitochondria

Produce ATP

Microfilament

Structural Support

Ribosome

Protein Synthesis

The organelles of the cell can be divided into membranous organelles and nonmembranous organelles.

Membranous Organelles

Non-Membranous Organelles

Endoplasmic Reticulum

Ribosomes

Vacuoles

Cytoskeleton

Lysosomes

Centrosome

Peroxisomes (oxidize harmful substances)

Flagella (Movement of Cell)
